Although I am a relative newcomer to Gloucester and Cape Ann, the landscape there is a source of limitless inspiration to me with its working waterfront, boats of all kinds, and older buildings on crowded streets. I seek the “golden hour” of extreme light at early morning and just before sunset with my camera, riding my bike or taking the dinghy around the harbor looking for just the right composition. I am fascinated by reflections in water; the way light bounces up on the hull of a boat; and by the light-and-dark contrast of wood pilings under a dock. A lifelong naturally talented artist, I took up watercolor in earnest in 2009. Working from my own photographs, I enjoy using a precise and realistic style that enhances the color and light of the original subject matter. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and currently take classes at the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester, Mass. I belong to the Shrewsbury Artists Guild and am an associate member of The North Shore Art Association in Gloucester. I am also a top-producing real estate agent in the Central Mass area where I reside. We spend long summer weekends on our boat, “Real Escape”, at Pier 7 Marina in Gloucester.
